Sneak Peek: EGG
Cahoots NI
Have you ever wondered how birds communicate with other birds? Now, have you ever wondered how the “birds” in Egg communicate with people? These are all egg-cellent questions for families to ponder before seeing Egg at the 2016 EQT Children’s Theater Festival.
Cahoots NI founder and artistic director Paul McEneaney developed this show from Alex Higlett’s book Egg and Bird. The wordless story dives into the daily lives of three bird brothers and their discovery of an unhatched egg, while the production explores how we communicate through physical theater.
Since Egg is a performance with no words, the “birds” rely on physical movement, facial expression, gestures, music, and illusion to convey the story to the audience.
With this in mind, what types of bird-like movement and behavior do you expect to see at the show? Flapping and fluttering wings? Chirping and whistling? If you were a bird, how would you tell a story?
Fly on down to the EQT Children’s Theater Festival and see how the “birds” of Cahoot NI tell the story of Egg! View shot times and ticketing options.
